Hello, friends!
As the header tells you, this is a heads-up for the up coming read-along. Here’re some things you might want to know about it:
We start June 1st, and read The Lies of Locke Lamora from there on until about early July, and Red Seas Under Red Skies from late July to August.
Lisa and captainragtag have done some thinking on how to make this read-along as tumblr friendly as possible, and as a result of their brainwork, there will be all kinds of questions and prompts on a daily basis (as far as we can manage it). The idea behind this is to render the read-along accessible to both old hands and new readers. You can answer the questions and/or prompts in any form you’d like – with a straightforward text answer, art, fan fiction, lyrics, pictures, synchronized swimming… Anything! Sky’s the limit. The prompts will be posted here on Thieves Prosper.
You can submit your reponses to us, or we can reblog them from you – it’s your call. Please do keep the first-timers and slower readers in mind and tag your spoilers though! We will agree on a spoiler tag and a read-along tag later in May and let you know before the reading starts.
That’s all I can think of for now. The point of this post is mostly to alert you to the starting date and the form the read-along is going to take.
Spread the word! Tell your friends! Whether you have friends who have yet to read these brilliant books, or you yourself haven’t yet picked them up from your To Be Read pile, this is the perfect time!
